Men of the Square Table

Concerning the OVC Tournament, things have arisen that demand my attention this Friday night and we will be unable to attend the semi-final game (Aaron will still get his money regardless). However, I am fully confident that Tech will win Friday night and we have every intention of being there Saturday to see Tech win a place in the Big Dance. I've already been practicing my, "PUT IN, ROLSMA!!" chant and my Loonie's T-shirt is washed and ready to go.
If any of you have any lip to give me about this, please draw your attention to the above picture and imagine me doing this to your lifeless body. Cheer our boys onto victory and I will see everyone and Saturday.
P.S. Adam won't be there on Friday either.

OVC Tourney is nearing...

2007 OVC Tournament Bracket Tech plays Tuesday night at home vs SEMO. After they win we play Friday night at 7:30. Things are working out perfectly. We will probably play Eastern Kentucky in the Semis and Murray St/Samford vs Austin Peay should be the other Semi. It will be a great weekend guys. Now I just have to find my Loonie shirt and my purple and gold shakers. Has anyone found Kevin Garnett yet???

Justin - Have you received the tickets yet???

Adam - Were you able to secure any tickets???

I don't know if anybody else watched Tech play on Tuesday night versus Austin Peay, but I went out to Buffalo Wild Wings to take in the action and enjoy .40 wing night. It was a great game and Tech looked great at time but then Peay kept making all sorts of threes. Tech ended up winning by one with a free throw in the last minute. Some of these guys can really shoot it and dunk DeAntwon Beasleyesque. I will have a quick roster review during the next week...

I got on ESPN's OVC message board today and it brought back lot of old memories. Does anyone else remember getting on there and talking smack?? Some of the same people are still on there...SEMO Court Jester anyone???

Hopefully the weather will be nice next weekend for some tailgating (Lord willing)

Ruger

Alright, I haven't had time to take a picture of my actual gun, so I just snagged the picture off of Ruger's website.

And, here is some youtube footage of a melon and a coke can:

And here is a video they thought it was appropriate to call "James' first time":

Dell or HP?

Men, The Hawkins Commandos are entering the 21st century and we need your help. We are going to purchase a computer with the capabilities to burn our games to a DVD and then do little things with Office. So I have got some prices and they are very different. Both of the computers are very similar and come with a monitor.

Dell E521 with a 3 year service plan has AMD 64 3200+, 1 GB, 250 Hard Drive, DVD Burner, 256 NVidia GE force 7300, Ethernet all for 853.33 including tax.

HP Pavilion S7700n Slimline has a AMD 64 X2 3800+, same ram and hard drive, Lightscribe DVD burner (which writes on the DVD), wireless internet, nVidia GeForce 6150 LE, and limited on year warranty at 939.53 with 250 in rebates.

Please let me know you opinion and vote. And Kevin if you want to build Hawkins one we will pay. Until Then

Man's Weekend Grub

I guess that we should start figuring out who is doing meals at the Weekend of the Man. I would like to call dibs on Saturday breakfast so that Andrew and I can continue our upstairs traditions. I think we have also decided not to have a formal lunch on Saturday and I think that is a great idea. It's no fun playing Top Spin on a bloated stomach.

Where are they now...

I was doing some research for the upcoming fantasy baseball season when I stumbled across a news blurb about Bubbie Buzachero. I was like whoa, wait a second, that sounds familiar. I had to look at his profile to make sure and sho nuff it was him, the former Golden Eagle. Which hot girl at Tech did he used to date??? I can't remember...
Well anyway, he is now a pitcher in the Cleveland Indians organization. I think he was in AA last year. (Two steps below the bigs.) Upon reading his little news blurb two crazy things jumped out.
1) Here was the opening line from the first player news - Bubbie Buzachero worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings for a save in Puerto Rico's 6-3 win over Venezuela on Saturday night. He's latino??????
I never knew. No wonder he got the hot chicks. He is playing with people like Juan Gonzalez, Alex Rios and other Latin All-stars. Craziness.
2) Now the bad (or funny) . His second news blurb...

Sep. 8, 2006 - 7:00 a.m. ET
Minor league reliever Bubbie Buzachero's future in the Indians' organization is cloudy because of a reported altercation with a teammate.
According to a report, Buzachero got into a fight Sunday that left teammate and Eastern League All-Star second baseman Eider Torres with a broken jaw, forcing Torres to miss the playoffs. "No final decision has been made on Bubbie’s future," Cleveland farm director John Farrell said. "He is the on restricted list because of behavior that we absolutely do not condone." Buzachero, who landed in the Indian organization in the Brian Tallet deal, had a very good year, going 8-3, 2.72 for Akron.
That a boy. Don't let them make fun of your southern accent!

men's weekend and the Jesus pieces

Adam, find out if the place we're going to is a place where we will be able to shoot handguns. It would be cool to add a sharpshooting event to manlympics. Andrew has a new one he got for Christmas and I'm getting one in the next week or so.

I'm going to be packing the Baby Eagle 40S&W, or the Jericho as it is called overseas. It's imported by Magnum Research from Israel Weapon Industries (IWI). Yes, I'm stoked. Andrew, when are we going to guns and leather?

To all the Loonies from across the land...it is time to unite!!!

Now I know some of you saw my previous post about our beloved Golden Eagles and thought "oh, that would be fun, but it probably won't materialize into anything." Well think again. I am dead serious about making a trip with my beloved wife to Nashville in the early evening of March 2nd to hopefully witness history for the Purple and Gold. Now I know that we have all been a part of many heartbreaks in the past, but when we do finally make it to the NCAA tourney we all should be there (or at least reminisce, have a good time, drink some beer and eat some good food. TTU is currently 10-4 in the OVC and tied for 2nd with Samford (those damn Baptists). We are currently riding a 8 game winning streak and look for nine in a row Saturday night at EKU.

So here is the low down on our position for the OVC tourny. As you probably remember the top 8 out of 11 teams advance to the postseason tourney. On Tues. Feb 27th the top 4 teams host the 5-8th place teams. The winners advance to Nashville for the semi-finals and finals. Tech is looking pretty good for hosting a first round game and unless they screw up, should advance to Nashville. This is where we come in. I think it would be awesome for us ( and our significant or semi-significant others) to tailgate before the game on Friday in the parking lot at the GEC if it is nice. Beer, western dogs, beer, purple ketchup, beer, and lots of games of "catch." The championship game is Saturday afternoon. Possibly some breakfast at someones house upstairs EDNA style. Andrew you bring the eggs, I will bring the hashbrowns...

The only complication of this is the tickets. If we buy tickets in advance (before Feb 20th) they are $10 a piece per game. The whole thing is general admission. If you buy them at the door they are $22. Now that is some crazy economics that might have to be explained by those amongst us with MBA's. So if we decide to do this thing we should probably buy tickets in advance for the semi finals and finals. If something happened and Tech lost in the first round game at home then it would suck and somebody would have to probably go down there and scalp them. Which shouldn't be too hard to do since they would be such a discount.

The Grays representing TTU alums of Western Tennessee have checked our calenders and we are game although we might need a place to crash in Greater Nashville. Jenny actually looks pretty hot in her Loonie shirt :)

Now who else is in??? Can Kevin Garnett be there??? Is he still alive and standing???

Prison Mike, Lazy Scranton, and all the gems....

http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/video/nbc_off_exc_lazyscranton_20061116_0500.shtml#video

This helps pass the time at work, or at home if you're a teacher and school was cancelled on the threat of snow/cold weather. I hate being at work when teachers are at home, but I do enjoy making more money. I guess you win some and lose some.

Also, while you're on the website, check out the fake PSA's. They are incredible.

Job Opening

You may have heard, but Our CEO, Kevin Rollins, resigned yesterday. So if any of you are looking for a job change, it pays pretty well. We don't need to start Uncles, Inc. anymore. All of us can just get pulled up the chain if one of us is CEO. Sounds easy enough, right?
