New Band

This is a new band I'm currently listening to, Arcade Fire. This is one of the songs off their second album, Neon Bible

The video is pretty awesome, although its not the actual music video. Someone made it from parts of "Once Upon A Time in the West".

A couple of things:
- The song is awesome.
- Charles Bronson is the guy in tan, and I think he was uglier when he was young. I didn't think that was possible.
- Henry Fonda has some awesome scruff in the clip. I can only imagine how incredible his beard or mustache would be.
- The Foo Fighters cover some of their songs in concert.

Love 'em all

JD,

That was an awesome video. It makes me want to see the whole movie. It hurts a little that Henry Fonda was a bad guy, since I'll always think he is perfect after watching Twelve Angry Men.

I've never seen any of his movies, but I want to see it too. Wiki has a pretty good rundown.

thanks JD, I'm headed there now.

Also, quick question for everyone. What is the worst possible gift I can get Alexis for Christmas and her still not divorce me? Discuss.

This question dose not have a correct answer.

Harumph

I'm not sure what "Harumph" means, but I'm sure it's good.

Sorry Andrew, stupid question on my part.

My fave of theirs is from their old CD, Neighborhood #3 (Power Out). He played the crap out of his guitar on SNL one night and at the end of the song, there were only 3 strings left.

Ross, "harumph" just means that one agrees with Gov. LePetomaine.

There's video on the Tube when they play Rebellion on Letterman.

He flips the guitar over and plays the back of it. Hilarious.

Towards the end of Intervention he breaks a string or two, then smashes the guitar on the front of the stage.

It was pretty awesome, and also on SNL.

Intervention is a great song, the organ rocks my face.

This occured to me after this post. We need westerns at the next Man's Weekend. Not a marathon, but just one. I'm inclined to let Andrew head that committee considering his affinity toward the arts and the pure skill he displayed of knowing all things media at the first Man's Weekend while we played Scene It? Was that the name of the game?

Anyway, I also read an interesting article on Mike Huckabee. I don't think we want a political blog this next year, so I'm putting it here rather then making a new post/thread whatever:

This a small exerpt from the lead story in World Magazine's latest edition.

But what Huckabee has going for him is what George W. Bush has had only on rare occasions—the ability to articulate a biblical position in a way that grabs ordinary voters. For example, during a June 5 GOP debate Huckabee answered what to journalists is a "gotcha" question: Does he believe in evolution or creation?

He responded, "I'm not planning on writing the curriculum for an eighth-grade science book. I'm asking for the opportunity to be president of the United States. But you've raised the question, so let me answer it.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. To me, it's pretty simple. A person either believes that God created this process or believes that it was an accident and that it just happened all on its own. . . .

"Let me be very clear: I believe there is a God. I believe there's a God who was active in the creation process.

"Now, how did He do it and when did He do it and how long did He take, I don't honestly know. And I don't think knowing that would make me a better or a worse president.

"But I'll tell you what I can tell this country: If they want a president who doesn't believe in God, there's probably plenty of choices. But if I'm selected as president of this country, they'll have one who believes in those words that God did create.

"And in the words of Martin Luther, 'Here I stand. I can do no other.'"

Huckabee is a compassionate voice that consevative Christianity has needed. I went to Tech's graduation this past weekend and saw a Ron Paul decorated graduation cap. Landon, it was hard being so close to you this weekend and yet so far away.

ross, I had a nice time with your father and brother this weekend. They both played with Jacob and we enjoyed sharing our common fondness of you.

Seth,
Were there tears?

Landon, do you really want a Southern Baptist to be President?

I mean he doesn't even extend the convenant promises to the children of parents under the covenant. I think you see how that would play out in policy making....

..."This admendment to the Consitution applies to all those past the 'age of accountability'. The ammendment will have to be re-adopted once little Johnny knows right from wrong...."

It's a dangerous row to hoe

there were no tears, only tender embraces.

Of course there were tears? You are talking about my father.

And if my brother was present then there was abounding, ugly facial hair too.
