Forget Bastard Children Blogs

I started to update my spinoff blog but I decided I just wanted to let you guys know what was going on with me on The Original.

Jenny and I have been out here in LA 11 months now and our time is coming to an end. The time has come where my training is complete and I'm finally going to get a real job. In August I will be returning to Columbia, Mo. to work in the family medicine and orthopedic departments at Mizzou. The job is everything I was hoping for in my first job out of fellowship. I will be able to teach residents and medical students. I also wanted to continue to have a family medicine practice and I'll have 4 family medicine and 4 sports medicine clinics each week. I will also be working with the Univ. of Missouri athletes in some fashion but I don't know specific details at this point.

New orthopedic offices where I will have my sports medicine clinics.

Jenny and I are both excited to be closer to our families. Jenny's dad is doing very well with his battle against cancer. His blood tests and CT scans have been free of cancer. Today was actually his birthday and every special day is a big milestone. My brother and his wife had a beautiful baby girl 2 months ago and Jenny and I are excited to have a little niece. I never would have guessed it but Alex has become a frequent blogger and updates their site with lots of pictures.

Now some random things...

What I'm watching - Dexter Season 3. We had heard about Dexter from different people over the past few years but finally gave it a chance on Netflix. We streamed the first 2 seasons and now are almost done with season 3. It's gruesome but clever.

What I'm drinking - Moscow Mule. Jenny and I stumbled upon this drink last year and we've loved them in the summertime ever since. We like to modify the original recipe and use ginger ale instead of ginger bear.

What sports team I'm into - Sporting Kansas City. If you follow me on Twitter you know I've been tweeting quite a bit about soccer. I played quite a bit of soccer growing up but stopped around 13 or 14 when it got to be too busy. After the World Cup in 2006 I really started following it again but I've never been into the MLS. This year it has changed with Kansas City undergoing a rebranding (used to be the Wiz then the Wizards) and opening a new stadium. I love that you can follow almost all the players on Twitter and you feel like you actually know the guys on more of a personal level.

I hope to see you guys this summer when Jenny and I head down to Tennessee. It will probably be in early to mid-August and I'll let you guys know when we get closer.

Interestingly enough, this puts the epicenter of the WOM Affected Area somwhere in the vicinity of the last 2 WOMs.

SEE THE MAP

I love the map Kevin. Also in the Epicenter would be some fly fishing in the streams of Arkansas which would be good times.

Doctor that's a great update! What kind of orthopedics are you going to be doing? Can I interest you in some spine products? *as I open my trenchcoat to show implants lined within*

And how about we don't go ANYWHERE near the places in Winter's Bone!

Winter's Bone was great. I have seen a few patients that are rough looking like that. The backwoods of the Ozarks are similar Appalachia.

Why is my marker pink! That hurts Kevin! Aaron, I tried to checkout your bros blog and it didn't work. I would love to check in on him, former KAA co-counsler. Go Tigers.
