Just wanted to check and see who all is still in for Evie Jane's baptism on Saturday. It will be at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. BBQ afterwards at my parents' house in Hendersonville.

Just me. I almost screwed up and signed up for the dragon boat race. Then I remembered it is an Edna weekend.
Your mom said we're having BBQ. There will be 2 Kingsbury's in attendance.
Saturday? Really?
We will be there for the blessing, not sure about lunch though. I haven't heard anything about apple butter or eating lemons yet. So I don't want to be dissapointed.
I'm interested to know why Saturday and why Covenant. Don't get me wrong, it's a great church. I think I may still technically be a member there.

Why Covenant? While the church we belong to here in Memphis recognizes paedobaptism, it is left to the current senior pastor as to if it is practiced. Our current pastor is credobaptist.
We could have had another minister come in and baptize Evie at our church, but we figured we might as well move the whole operation closer to home to make it easier on family and friends.
One of the current pastors at Covenant and his wife are close friends of ours, having gone to England and Scotland with them for the past 2 years. He was more than willing to baptize our girl, so to make it easier on him, we are coming to Nashville.
Why Saturday? Well, we aren't members of Covenant, so it would be awkward to present ourselves before a congregation that we aren't apart of and ask them to hold us accountable to our vows when we live 3 hours away. So, Saturday it is.
Also, Covenant's new sanctuary is the balls.
well, that makes sense now. and yes, it is the balls.
Joneses are there
The Vicks will be there but only the Landon and the Kandice. Sorry, Jacob Jones, no Malcolm or John. But if you were to give me 5 good reasons for us to drive our boys up to and back from Hendersonville we might change our minds.
I will have to bow out of the baby blessing. I am working now. Sorry I am missing it. leave room for me in the group photo and Kev can photoshop me in.
