Becoming a "Blog of Note" takes dedication and determination. It is not good enough to just post when you feel like it. You have to push through the hard times and come out on the other end a stronger Blog.
It's just that ever since we've been pursuing this Blog of Note thing, we've become a Blog of Hate. Kevin and Justin/Adam fighting over President's Day. Seth hitting below the belt with the Columbia Central/Dell reference. Justin firing back with jabs at Saban/Alabama.
Where is the love? Why can't it go back to the way things used to be? Ross, you got my back?
It's not about us doing anything intentionaly different. It's the fact that we are trying to puruse some standard that man (a.k.a. blogger.com) has created. This blog is about the essence of Edna and how she fills our nostrils with the sweet scent of a 40 degree house and carbon monoxide poisoning, parties in the basement with Nunley breaking it down like no other white boy can, fromunda flowing like the swallows of Capistrono, and Squak being a pain to each and everyone one of us (especially Nunley, even though he loved Squeak more than all of us combined).
Would I like this to be a blog of note? Of couse. Am I willing to reach that goal by posting for the sake of posting? No.
We need to remember why this blog is here. For us to joke around with each other and share random stories. For us to keep up with each other and keep connected as best we can. Everyday I come to work and the only thing that gets me here is knowing that I can check this blog 40-60 times a day, hoping to see a funny comment by JD or an obscure reference by Kevin about WoW.
Let us never lose sight of what we have here. To quote Marcus Arilius from Gladiator, "There once was a dream that was Rome, speak of it above a whisper and it would vanish." I believe the very same thing about this blog.
Let us not speak of President's day sales and the pros and cons of a husband being there or not. Let's rejoice in the fact that sometime early next year, regardless of when that is, we will get to be together and get to hang out. That is what this blog is.
The comments on this post have armed my heart. Here is a funny story you all might like.
I broke up my first fight yesterday after lunch. It was a girl fight and it was UGLY. I am in the library reading about the newest research on our memory and why it works when I hear all hell break loose in the hall. I bust out of the doors to see a huge mob and about 20 cell phones out recording the action. When I get to the center of it all I see it is two girls. I think, "crap! not a have to be careful about what I grab to break them up." One girl is on the ground, and the other is kicking her in the face. I jump in the middle and I grab their shoulders to get them apart. This is when one of the girls grabs the other's hair and starts thrashing her head around and refuses to let go. The more I pull them apart, the more hair comes out. I finally get her to let go and she knees the other girl one last time in the face. I drug them to the office and they left the school in cuffs. Just another day's work.
Andrew, I love it that you are at such an awesome school. When we start the village we can bring the best of both worlds (public and private schools) into EDNA High.

I can't see this at work, but I agree. It is too quiet around here. Is it too soon to demand another comment/post from Brandon?
We never should have taken this blog public.
It's always BEEN public. We just weren't fully aware of it.

I haven't been doing anything differently in order to "pursue the Blog of Note"
It was merely a wish, like seeing Earth from space, winning the Powerball, or eating free Subway for life.
I love Subway.
I would love to win the Powerball.
I would like to see earth from space.
So we're realy not that different....me and you.
Hell yeah I got your back Andrew.

I deleted my negative comment. Let's get back to talking about something we can all agree on: The Office.
We need this writer's strike to end, NOW. My thursday nights are gonna go downhill, and fast.
story
Thank you, Ross. You took the words right out of my mouth.
Speaking of The Office. Ross and Alexis are coming over tonight for dinner, office, scrub night. Everyone's invited.
Enjoy it wile it lasts. Its about to be like "Lost" in here. Re-run city.
Andrew, good to know I have plans for dinner.
Adam, JD, Kev can you guys make it over here by 7:00? Just an idea.
TV is going to suck in about 3 weeks.
Ross, it's 6:30.
Holy crap, I just saw what this is. I could kill someone with a 10' log right now.
When he busts out of those leaves, i gets me every time.
If Deadly Prey won't make us a Blog of Note, I don't know what will.

These comments have warmed my heart. Although it has armed my heart to fight against Blogger greed.
One of my students was chewing gum today. I told her to spit it out.
It was pretty intense.
Just another day's work (at a private school)
Also, another student had on a non-uniform jacket. I told him to take it off.
