I just started using a free and really good budget planner.
You can find it here
Keeping the Blog Alive! (Really, I want to get the landlord off the main page, so it doesn't start playing everytime I open the blog at home. I love Will Ferrell as much as anyone, its just getting old. Pearl IS an Alcoholic though)

D Dubbs
You can listen to Derek Webb's new album for free online here.
It's a pretty good way to pass time.
You have to click on the photo of the album on the bottom of the page to get it started, and click to the next song when it finishes.
And if any of you want to go to chuch with him, move to Nashville (Landon)

Lest we forget....

Justin is getting married this Saturday! Just thought I'd throw that out there. "Get thee to bed and rest, for thou hast need." (Romeo and Juliet, Act IV, scene iii, line 13-14)
And I will now leave you with an excerpt from "Intended for Pleasure". ALERT: Brandon, if you reading this...stop NOW!!
"If the husband (that's you, Justin) is attempting to stretch the vaginal opening on the wedding night, he should make sure his fingernails are filed very smooth and short and then follow these instructions: Insert the tips of three fingers, held in a wedge shape and well lubricated with artificial lubricant, into the vaginal opening. Press down toward the back, very firmly but very slowly. It should take from 15 to 30 minutes to fully stretch the hymen. Move your fingers only 1/8 inch (BRING A TAPE MEASURE) at a time, until finally you can insert all 3 fingers to the base."
Have fun, J-Lo.

Augusta, GA....the carpet capital of the world!

Landon added some pic's from yesterday's trip to Augusta to his Picasa page. Its really like walking on green carpet. I was close enough to slap Tiger Woods in the face. But, so sue me, I decided to punch him in the nuts instead. Nunley, I yelled "Until THen" when I did it, it really does work on confusing the crap out of people. THANKS!

Gun Safety
I've got some safety rules we need to go over before men's weekend for those who've never been around guns before. I know some of us have wives who are worried about 9 of the world's most elite warriors together in one place with nothing in mind but making things explode. Hopefully they can rest easy knowing that even though we are determined to destroy something, anything, we do it with a cheerful heart and caring smile.
Other than that you should be good. Andrew's dad has supplied us with ear protection and a few pairs of googles, so you don't need to worry about that part. Adam, you'll need to go over the shotgun rules at some point. Now for your moment of zen...

- Don't ask if the gun is loaded...the answer is always YES!
- Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot
- Don't shoot until you understand how it works
- Before you hand the gun to someone ALWAYS make sure it isn't loaded and let them see you do it
- The bullet doesn't stop until it hits something or falls to the ground, which could be anywhere up to a mile away...so keep the gun pointed at the ground OR something you plan on destroying and ALWAYS know what is beyond your target!
- If you get a misfire, point it at the ground and let one of us know. This is an unstable state for the gun to be in. We love you...we're here to help.
- Wear the ear protection and safety glasses. The shells in the revolvers stay in the cylinder until you eject them, but the pistols eject the shells fast and very hot

Trip Dow Memory Lane....Oh Yeah Meals
THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR

SUCK IT!!!!! Here are the directions to the palace in the hills. Now as far as guns go: I will know this weekend if they are allowed. If yes, I will be researching the cost of bullets and clay targets for competition. I may have to charge a small fee for those items. I will email you all the directions as well. Really I am sorry this took so long. But here you go. Until Then
From Memphis:
Take I-40 towards Nashville.
After crossing the Tennessee River, get off at Exit #137
Stay to your right and go 5.4 miles
(Follow “Driftwood” signs)
Take a right and go 2.1 miles
Take a left and cross over a bridge
Take the first right turn (about 50 yards after bridge) and go 2.9 miles
At the “Y” in the road, go right
Go just a few yards and take a left.
Follow this road and you will go up a steep hill. Cabin is on the right at the top of a hill. It is gray-blue with a detached garage.

Don't know if any of you guys have seen this but I was cracking up. These are real people with insane names. I think we should all go by one of these aliases over man's weekend...which is getting real close if you look at the counter.

The one where all the guys are walking down an airport runway in their white jump suits. Yeah those suits look like something Nunley would dream of wearing.

If you need me to drill anything, let me know. Because I have the most awesome drill known to man. 1,400 RPM's and 400 lbs of torque. Who needs a gun.... I can drill through a brick wall and pierce your brain. I think it even doubles as a jack hammer. Adam, Brandon, and Kev saw it in person. Thanks for coming men, it was good times.

Give Me Liberty or Leave Me the Hell Alone!

We got out of school today because of the forecast for some rain...I love being a teacher! So I have some extra time on my hands and will now post something that has been on my mind lately.
The second ammendment to our Constitution reads, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Amen! I'm glad that our forefathers had the foresight to put this into the document that outlines our entire government, because IT TAKES A FREAKIN' ACT OF CONGRESS TO GET YOUR LICENSE TO CARRY A HANDGUN!!! If men like Patrick Henry, Nathan Hale, or George Washington knew what we have to go through today to get a handgun carry permit, I swear, they would move to Canada. I will now outline what one has to do to legally carry a firearm.
1. Pay $55 dollars to sit through an 8 hour class about handgun safety. Useful pieces of information learned here: a) Don't look down the barrel of the gun to see if it's loaded; b) If you in fact ever have to use your firearm to protect yourself or your family, prepare to be sued by the jerk's family that you shoot.
2. Pass a target shooting test. This test consists of a paper target in the shape of a man about 10 feet from you. A drunk donkey could pass this test, so I don't know what the point of it is.
3. Take certificate of completion to Department of Motor Vehicles. What the DMV has to do with my 2nd ammendment right, I don't know.
4. Wait in line behind a bunch of 15 year olds trying to take their driving permit test. Finally get called to the desk...
Lady: How can I help you?
Me: Yes, I would like to apply for my handgun carry permit. Here is my certificate of safety course completion.
Lady: Do you have your birth certificate?
Me: For what?
Lady: To prove that you were born.
Me: Do you see me standing here?
Lady: Yes, but we need your birth certificate. (Bear in mind that to get a driver's license, you have to show your birth certificate and I am standing in the place where I obtained said driver's license, but I let that little nugget of information go.)
Me: I'll be right back.
5. Drive home to get my birth certificate.
6. Drive back to DMV and wait behind even more 15 year olds.
7. Finally get back up to the lady who takes my certificate of completion, driver's license, and birth certificate. Ok, fill out this application.
8. Fill out application and then pay...get this...$115 (again for what, I don't know)
9. Receive receipt of payment and a piece of paper instructing me about all the steps I need to go through to get fingerprinted.
10. Call fingerprint place to set up appointment. As it turns out, the fingerprint place for this area is at the Sumner County Board of Education. Yes, the same place I had to be fingerprinted in order to become a teacher. (I hope you are seeing the redundancy here)
11. Get fingerprinted and then find out that I have to wait 6-8 weeks for my permit to be mailed to me. 6-8 weeks!!!!! Hello.
Well, anyway, that's about it. Now I see why so many criminals just get guns from back alley pawn shops. All that to say, I won't have a handgun carry permit for Man's Weekend, but still plan on packing all the heat I can muster. They can have my guns when they pry them out of my cold, dead hands.
Attention Nunley
We need some details for reals about where Men's Weekend is. I have to look over the google maps of the area and, well, to be honest I'd like to know for sure that this place even exists. So far its been..."we're going to the lake house" and "mmm, it's near Cuba Landing". Well, guess what! BAM! Now, where are we going?!

Men of the Square Table
Concerning the OVC Tournament, things have arisen that demand my attention this Friday night and we will be unable to attend the semi-final game (Aaron will still get his money regardless). However, I am fully confident that Tech will win Friday night and we have every intention of being there Saturday to see Tech win a place in the Big Dance. I've already been practicing my, "PUT IN, ROLSMA!!" chant and my Loonie's T-shirt is washed and ready to go.
If any of you have any lip to give me about this, please draw your attention to the above picture and imagine me doing this to your lifeless body. Cheer our boys onto victory and I will see everyone and Saturday.
P.S. Adam won't be there on Friday either.

OVC Tourney is nearing...
2007 OVC Tournament Bracket Tech plays Tuesday night at home vs SEMO. After they win we play Friday night at 7:30. Things are working out perfectly. We will probably play Eastern Kentucky in the Semis and Murray St/Samford vs Austin Peay should be the other Semi. It will be a great weekend guys. Now I just have to find my Loonie shirt and my purple and gold shakers. Has anyone found Kevin Garnett yet???
Justin - Have you received the tickets yet???
Adam - Were you able to secure any tickets???
I don't know if anybody else watched Tech play on Tuesday night versus Austin Peay, but I went out to Buffalo Wild Wings to take in the action and enjoy .40 wing night. It was a great game and Tech looked great at time but then Peay kept making all sorts of threes. Tech ended up winning by one with a free throw in the last minute. Some of these guys can really shoot it and dunk DeAntwon Beasleyesque. I will have a quick roster review during the next week...
I got on ESPN's OVC message board today and it brought back lot of old memories. Does anyone else remember getting on there and talking smack?? Some of the same people are still on there...SEMO Court Jester anyone???
Hopefully the weather will be nice next weekend for some tailgating (Lord willing)

Dell or HP?
Men, The Hawkins Commandos are entering the 21st century and we need your help. We are going to purchase a computer with the capabilities to burn our games to a DVD and then do little things with Office. So I have got some prices and they are very different. Both of the computers are very similar and come with a monitor.
Dell E521 with a 3 year service plan has AMD 64 3200+, 1 GB, 250 Hard Drive, DVD Burner, 256 NVidia GE force 7300, Ethernet all for 853.33 including tax.
HP Pavilion S7700n Slimline has a AMD 64 X2 3800+, same ram and hard drive, Lightscribe DVD burner (which writes on the DVD), wireless internet, nVidia GeForce 6150 LE, and limited on year warranty at 939.53 with 250 in rebates.
Please let me know you opinion and vote. And Kevin if you want to build Hawkins one we will pay. Until Then
Man's Weekend Grub
I guess that we should start figuring out who is doing meals at the Weekend of the Man. I would like to call dibs on Saturday breakfast so that Andrew and I can continue our upstairs traditions. I think we have also decided not to have a formal lunch on Saturday and I think that is a great idea. It's no fun playing Top Spin on a bloated stomach.

Where are they now...
I was doing some research for the upcoming fantasy baseball season when I stumbled across a news blurb about Bubbie Buzachero. I was like whoa, wait a second, that sounds familiar. I had to look at his profile to make sure and sho nuff it was him, the former Golden Eagle. Which hot girl at Tech did he used to date??? I can't remember...
Well anyway, he is now a pitcher in the Cleveland Indians organization. I think he was in AA last year. (Two steps below the bigs.) Upon reading his little news blurb two crazy things jumped out.
1) Here was the opening line from the first player news - Bubbie Buzachero worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings for a save in Puerto Rico's 6-3 win over Venezuela on Saturday night. He's latino??????
I never knew. No wonder he got the hot chicks. He is playing with people like Juan Gonzalez, Alex Rios and other Latin All-stars. Craziness.
2) Now the bad (or funny) . His second news blurb...
Sep. 8, 2006 - 7:00 a.m. ET
Minor league reliever Bubbie Buzachero's future in the Indians' organization is cloudy because of a reported altercation with a teammate.
According to a report, Buzachero got into a fight Sunday that left teammate and Eastern League All-Star second baseman Eider Torres with a broken jaw, forcing Torres to miss the playoffs. "No final decision has been made on Bubbie’s future," Cleveland farm director John Farrell said. "He is the on restricted list because of behavior that we absolutely do not condone." Buzachero, who landed in the Indian organization in the Brian Tallet deal, had a very good year, going 8-3, 2.72 for Akron.
That a boy. Don't let them make fun of your southern accent!

men's weekend and the Jesus pieces

Adam, find out if the place we're going to is a place where we will be able to shoot handguns. It would be cool to add a sharpshooting event to manlympics. Andrew has a new one he got for Christmas and I'm getting one in the next week or so.
I'm going to be packing the Baby Eagle 40S&W, or the Jericho as it is called overseas. It's imported by Magnum Research from Israel Weapon Industries (IWI). Yes, I'm stoked. Andrew, when are we going to guns and leather?

To all the Loonies from across the land...it is time to unite!!!

Now I know some of you saw my previous post about our beloved Golden Eagles and thought "oh, that would be fun, but it probably won't materialize into anything." Well think again. I am dead serious about making a trip with my beloved wife to Nashville in the early evening of March 2nd to hopefully witness history for the Purple and Gold. Now I know that we have all been a part of many heartbreaks in the past, but when we do finally make it to the NCAA tourney we all should be there (or at least reminisce, have a good time, drink some beer and eat some good food. TTU is currently 10-4 in the OVC and tied for 2nd with Samford (those damn Baptists). We are currently riding a 8 game winning streak and look for nine in a row Saturday night at EKU.
So here is the low down on our position for the OVC tourny. As you probably remember the top 8 out of 11 teams advance to the postseason tourney. On Tues. Feb 27th the top 4 teams host the 5-8th place teams. The winners advance to Nashville for the semi-finals and finals. Tech is looking pretty good for hosting a first round game and unless they screw up, should advance to Nashville. This is where we come in. I think it would be awesome for us ( and our significant or semi-significant others) to tailgate before the game on Friday in the parking lot at the GEC if it is nice. Beer, western dogs, beer, purple ketchup, beer, and lots of games of "catch." The championship game is Saturday afternoon. Possibly some breakfast at someones house upstairs EDNA style. Andrew you bring the eggs, I will bring the hashbrowns...
The only complication of this is the tickets. If we buy tickets in advance (before Feb 20th) they are $10 a piece per game. The whole thing is general admission. If you buy them at the door they are $22. Now that is some crazy economics that might have to be explained by those amongst us with MBA's. So if we decide to do this thing we should probably buy tickets in advance for the semi finals and finals. If something happened and Tech lost in the first round game at home then it would suck and somebody would have to probably go down there and scalp them. Which shouldn't be too hard to do since they would be such a discount.
The Grays representing TTU alums of Western Tennessee have checked our calenders and we are game although we might need a place to crash in Greater Nashville. Jenny actually looks pretty hot in her Loonie shirt :)
Now who else is in??? Can Kevin Garnett be there??? Is he still alive and standing???

This helps pass the time at work, or at home if you're a teacher and school was cancelled on the threat of snow/cold weather. I hate being at work when teachers are at home, but I do enjoy making more money. I guess you win some and lose some.
Also, while you're on the website, check out the fake PSA's. They are incredible.
